OGN Launching Korean PUBG League Next Year
In a stunning piece of news, esports organization OGN announced today that it is developing a Korean PUBG league to launch as soon as January 2018! The game has massive appeal, with PlayerUnknown announcing just yesterday that the 20 million copies have been sold… So industry leaders are rushing to satisfy this pent-up demand! Next week’s $200,000 tournament at IEM Oakland will be the first competitive showing for PUBG in North America, as the game’s scale is challenging for LAN organizers. But OGN isn’t worried – they’re accustomed to producing events at television scale. Apparently they’re even constructing a 100-player esports arena in Ilsan, South Korea!
Sounds like OGN is making a serious bet on the future of competitive Battlegrounds! One thing’s for sure – we’re incredibly hype to see PUBG at IEM Oakland next weekend! Find more details on that event right here. Want more Korean PUBG news? Team KSV just revealed two new players for their squad!
